How Scallog works

Scallog’s automated goods-to-person storage system combines mobile robots, dynamic shelving, order picking stations and software to automate the picking, replenishment, reverse logistics and inventory management processes.

The mobile shelving is organized in a secure storage area and when needed, is picked up and transported to a workstation by Scallog’s Boby robot. At the workstation, a computer tells the operator which orders are being picked, while the spot-to-pick system illuminates the picking location the shelf. The operator picks the item and places it in the bin designated by the put-to-light system on the order buffer rack.

The Scallog system consists of software, Boby mobile robots, shelves, and the picking workstation. The robots navigate using optical sensors that follow guidance strips adhered to the floor. Changing the robots’ paths is as easy as removing the strips and re-adhering them to the new location. Scallog shelves are configurable and can store items on both sides. Workstations are configurable to fit your needs, and include a computer, the spot-to-light system, and the order buffer rack with put-to-light. The included software supplements existing WMS/ERP systems and coordinates the entire process, including fleet management, flow management, and provides a remote monitoring interface to track the entire process.

Features & Benefits

Offering a modular, scalable and flexible solution, Scallog’s system can be incorporated with no alterations to existing infrastructure and has no slab thickness requirements.
