Company Achieves Microsoft Gold Independent Software Vendor Competency and Gold Software Development Competency

Louisville, Ky, US — February 2012 — Bastian's software group today announced it has attained a Gold Independent Software Vendor (ISV) competency and a Gold Software Development competency, demonstrating a “best-in-class” ability and commitment to meet Microsoft Corp. customers’ evolving needs in today’s dynamic business environment and distinguishing itself within the top one percent of Microsoft’s partner ecosystem. A portfolio of competencies showcases that Bastian is committed to focusing on in-demand, business solution areas, along with ensuring it can meet the evolving needs of customers because of market changes.

To earn a Microsoft competency, partners must successfully complete exams (resulting in Microsoft Certified Professionals) to prove their level of technology expertise and, for gold competencies, designate these certified professionals uniquely to one Microsoft competency, ensuring a certain level of staffing capacity. Partners must also submit customer references that demonstrate successful projects and pass technology and/or sales assessments. For gold competencies, partners must also implement a yearly customer satisfaction study and, for many competencies, meet a revenue commitment.

The Bastian software group is a team of supply chain integration experts who develop, maintain and support supply chain execution software. For more than 20 years, this group has provided services that assist companies in achieving automation efficiency and maintain crucial data collection within warehouse systems.

"We have participated in the Microsoft partner program for nearly 8 years," said Damir Kantardzic, president of Bastian's software group. "As a software company in a competitive supply chain market, we focus on providing the best solution and top-notch customer support, as well as instilling confidence in our customers of our team’s abilities. The Microsoft Network competencies help us achieve this goal."

"By achieving a portfolio of competencies, partners demonstrate deep expertise and consistent capability on the latest Microsoft technology," said Jon Roskill, corporate vice president, Worldwide Partner Group at Microsoft Corp. "These partners show true commitment to meeting customer technology needs today and into the future."

All 28 Microsoft technology competencies differentiate a partner’s specific technology capabilities, helping customers find qualified solution providers with expertise in discrete areas quickly and easily.

Attaining the Software Development competency demonstrates partner expertise in creating customized application solutions based on Microsoft technologies with tools such as the Visual Studio 2010 development system.

Attaining the Microsoft Independent Software Vendor (ISV)/Software competency demonstrates partner expertise in developing applications based on Microsoft solutions. Equipped with exclusive training, the latest software, and support on Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server, Windows 7 and Microsoft cloud services, these partners are equipped to develop innovative solutions to meet their customers’ needs.

The Microsoft Partner Network helps partners strengthen their capabilities to showcase leadership in the marketplace on the latest technology, to better serve customers and, with 640,000 Microsoft partners in their ecosystem, to easily connect with one of the most active, diverse networks in the world.
