1952
Elgan Stark, father-in-law of Bill Bastian Sr., incorporated the company that would eventually become Bastian Solutions, originally named the E.C. Stark Co., Inc., on October 31, 1952. The company supplied conventional material handling products including casters, hand trucks, and carts. The motto was "If It Rolls - We Supply It."
1960s
Bill Bastian Sr. purchased the company from Mr. Stark in 1967 and became president of the Bastian Stark Material Handling Corporation.
1970s
The company was renamed in 1971 to Bastian Material Handling Corporation.
1980s
Bastian Material Handling became more involved with automated solutions and information systems that control the flow of products in distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, and warehousing operations.
1990s
Bastian Material Handling continued to grow and added intralogistics software services by acquiring ASAP Automation in 1997.
The company's first international offices were opened in Bengaluru, India in 1998.
2000s
Bastian purchased Hytrol of California and also formed Blue Arc Engineering in 2003.
In 2005, Bastian created its first robotics division with the purchase of VanPak, later renamed Bastian Robotics.
2010s
In 2010, Bastian Material Handling began engineering and manufacturing its own line of conveyor.
Throughout the 2010s offices opened in Toronto, Canada; Montreal, Canada; Atlanta, Georgia; São Paulo, Brazil; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Tampa, Florida; San Luis Potosí, Mexico; Mexico City, Mexico and a 11,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Greenfield, Indiana.
Bastian Material Handling was renamed Bastian Solutions in 2012, incorporating all divisions under one brand.
In 2015, Bastian Solutions formed a mobile robotics division in Dallas, Texas.
Bastian Solutions was acquired by Toyota Automated Logistics Group, a subsidiary of Japan-based Toyota Industries Corporation, in 2017.
In 2019, Bastian Solutions opened its Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Westfield, Indiana.
